1905

In 1905, Herman Jansen began making and selling football boots in Hengelo (Gelderland). The boots were assembled in the attic room of his home. The whole family helped out to cut the patterns, glue and stitch. In the same year the founder opened his first shop in Hengelo. Six pairs of boots in the shop window set among no fewer than 150 empty boxes.

1914

On the eve of WWI leather was hard to get and so was labour. The Jansen family had to work hard to keep the business running, with only the repair shop open in order to survive these difficult times.

1926

Bep van Klaveren (1907 – 1992) Grew up in Rotterdam, where he learned to use his fists early on. During a long career, the little man who stood just 1.64m tall would grow to become a phenomenon, a living legend. Throughout his career Bep boxed on our boots which, as a tribute to this legendary athlete, where relaunched in 2002.

1928

The Olympic Games came to the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Providing
the official running shoe, which we re-introduced in our 2003 spring/summer collection and named Olympic ‘28.

1934

During the 30’s we were the first football boot brand in the World to bring out studs with iron rings. This invention meant that the studs, which in those days consisted of successive layers of pressed leather, held together longer such improving durability.

1940

The famous Captain model kept us in the lead over many decades. Besides the usual optimal quality and fit, De Captain was sought after for its width, its soft top quality leather and its design.

1941

Rotterdam’s Servaas ‘Faas’ Wilkes was Holland’s First real international football star. He was "THE" boyhood hero and for years he led the top scorers’ chart for the Dutch national side with thirty-five goals.

1947

The Dutch soccer team, one of the most famous of all time, are playing their matches on our boots.

1948

Immediately after WWII production was restarted of leather football boots. Demand rose and the factory was relocated. Production was increased to 1600 pairs a week. In this year the founder Herman Jansen retired at 75 and left a sound company to his four sons.

1950

Diversifying into many different sports, Our tennis shoes where among the most comfortable and durable.

1954

Many teams have been equipped until today

1955

Coen Moulijn was the darling of “The Legion”, as the Feyenoord supporters are known. Coen played professional football for eighteen years.

1960

Advertising campaigns were launched first time in the 6-ties. The factory by then produced a wide range of both men’s and ladies’ shoes, from soccer to hockey, from cycling to ice skating.

1961

Sjoukje Dijkstra was the best figure skater in the world during the early 6-ties. Double Salchows, double Axels or a double Lutz with a double loop all on our skating boots.

1963

Celebrating our sixtieth anniversary. Commercial spirit and hard work had seen the factory through difficult periods and war. The distinctive block stripes soon turned every new shoe into a unique piece of work that was hard to imitate.

1965

We introduced Europe’s lightest football boot, the Supercup. Supercup S, Starfighter and Typhoon were top of the range and resulted from 65 years of hard work and craftsmanship.

1968

Olympic skating champion Kees Verkerk, is one of those who glided to international success on the Victory.

1970

On 6 May 1970 Feyenoord makes history by becoming the First Dutch side to win the European Cup. In the final in Milan, with 5300 of their fans in the stands of the San Siro, the rotterdammers proved too strong a team for Celtic. Half of Feyenoord's selection wore our boots.

1971

The Victory No1. All black, no embellishments!!

1973

Innovative development in both shoes and sportswear guaranteed our leading position in the market of functional sportswear and special football boots. The Smash, Sprint and Typhoon models were proof that we were leading the world of football.

1977

Leading the market with a large equipment collection for soccer containing apparel, boots, shinguards, laces, balls, bags and studs.

1979

The 70s and 80s saw the introduction of the Topstar. The Topstar easily found its place besides our other great soccer boots. The Topstar was the first all-black soccer boot with optimal touch and superb fit and a widely acclaimed cushioning ankle support. Some players stated soccer would never be the same after the Topstar.

1980

Dik Bruynesteyn, renown pencil artist & cartoonist, created various advertising materials on different sports.

1981

Sports shoes found their way into casual clothing.. Sneakers and jeans were trendy and have been trendy ever since.

2001

Two true fans take-over business. In July and September 2001 limited editions were introduced at Seventy-Five, Amsterdam and Offspring, London. Suddenly again among the best selling fashion sneakers.

2002

International acclaim came soon after again when the Dutch Shuffle XXL was launched as a tribute to the legendary boxer Bep van Klaveren.

2003

After the re-launch 2001, 2003 marks the year that the first technical football boot was developed again. Of course in original black & white, simple and sturdy.

2005

Official teamwear supplier of Dutch Football club AZ Alkmaar. AZ and coach Louis van Gaal play at the top of the Dutch premier league.

2006

Growing as quickly abroad as on our own turf resulted in advertising campaigns for various territories.

2007

The iconic Q and embellished double blockbelts appeared on the Spyker Formula One cars. Race shoes for all team members including the FIA approved fire-proof versions for the pilots.

2008

In collaboration with famous men’s wear designer Jeroen van Tuyl, A shoeline is introduced combining the best of casual-, sports- and dress styling.

2009

The Relaunch of “Flexible and Strong” collections. Originating from the 8-ties, flash colours and material mixes without compromising the integrity and pureness of the original products.

2010

Stars in their eyes. Support for South Africa's deprived and disadvantaged.

2010

Still present in car racing, endorsing and supplying the Spyker Squadron during the 24hours of LeMans.

2011

Q and Armin will launch collections under the Q by Armin van Buuren label. A long term collaboration combining Music, Fashion and Sports.

2012

Tijdens de presentatie van de Nederlandse deelnemers aan de Jeugd Olympische Winterspelen in Innsbruck, werd ook de (nieuwe) kledingsponsor, Q(1905), gepresenteerd voor dit specifieke evenement. Het Oer-Hollandse merk Q(1905) heeft een rijke geschiedenis in sport. En daar is de logische link met de sponsoring van deze jeugdige Nederlandse talenten.
